I think that Digital challenges one's creativity, while at the same time being analytical, mathematical, and scientific (my favorite combination). That's why I wanted to study Digital, and I hope to start a second course with the DMI in the near future
Tell us a bit about your experience before the Digital Marketing Institute
Professionally, I “grew up” in a very friendly ad agency and took an active part in a number of fantastic projects - from big budget TV campaigns to events and important social projects. After I became a mother, I started my own business - the first dedicated spice shop in Romania. After five years of hard work and some ups and downs to put the business on its feet, I decided it was time for change and moved with my family to the UK.
What influenced your decision to study digital?
I already had a strong experience in advertising because I promoted my business mostly through online channels. I experienced the power of digital marketing, and I really loved the freedom and openness of it.
Why did you choose to study the Professional Diploma with the Digital Marketing Institute?
I was surfing the web for options and somehow triggered a follow-up call from the Digital Marketing Institute's (excellent) sales team. Prior to signing the contract to start my course, I did my research, and it answered all my needs.
Since completing the course in the Digital Marketing Institute, how has your Career progressed?
It took me almost a year to find the perfect job. I'm a mother of two, so I did not want just any job. I wanted flexible hours, freedom, and a great match to my experience and work principles. I am now a Digital Marketer for Erica Sosna, a wonderful person, and a great career coach. She conveniently lives in the village just next to mine and helps a lot of interesting people achieve their career goals.
I have to admit that I am living the dream. I am now working on launching her new website and preparing an email, social, and PPC campaign for this autumn. I'm doing what I love, with the added bonus of working on a captivating subject.
Is there any advice you would give to new students at the Digital Marketing Institute?
Write everything down. I still have my notebook and check it all the time. I drew every graph, too. Do your exercises, and use your imagination. This is what we are meant to do anyway! And enjoy it.
In one word, how would you describe your time in the Digital Marketing Institute?
Brilliant!
